Most creators who post on multiple platforms make the mistake of treating them as the same. They are not. The algorithm reads different signals. The audience arrives with different expectations. The formatting matters.
The three edits
TikTok rewards the hook happening in the first 1.5 seconds. Use captions that appear immediately. Use trending audio when it fits.
Reels rewards a slightly slower hook (2–3 seconds) and stronger cover-image discoverability. Add a compelling still frame as the first frame. Instagram users often decide from the grid, not from playback.
YouTube Shorts rewards longer watch time within the 60-second cap. Front-load the hook but pace the middle. YouTube also rewards descriptive titles more heavily than the other two.
What Sifa does with this
When you connect two or more platforms, we compute *content-transfer suggestions*: "This TikTok would work as a Reel — here are the two edits." We show you the version-per-platform preview before you post.
You still make the call. We just save you the 20 minutes of thinking about it.
When cross-posting hurts
If your audiences overlap heavily (60%+), cross-posting reads as spam. Your loyal audience sees the same thing twice and disengages. In that case, we recommend platform-native content: different topics per platform, not the same topic re-edited.
Your audit will tell you your actual overlap. Every creator's math is different.
